Why can’t I play music in Apple Music

I have a subscription for Apple Music and my brother just paid it yesterday and I am not able to play music. It says “music purchased on iTunes or downloaded on your computer will appear here” and if I try to play music it says that I have to pay.

Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Media and Purchases, sign out and sign back in with your Apple ID.
