Add Page greyed out?

Saw many questions about this but without a good solution.

Until I search Pages' help and noticed,

You might be using the wrong method to add or delete a page, depending on whether you’re working in a word-processing or page layout document. The process for adding and deleting pages is different for each type of document, so you need to know what type of document you have.

So, click on Document in toolbar, then click Document tab, unselect "Document Body"

that's it! change to page layout document, you can easily add or delete or rearrange, just right from Thumbnail view.

Hi Cathy,

I assume you were working on a Word Processing document when you noticed that the Add Page button was greyed out. Did you accidentally click in the page margin (out of the Document Body)?

Click in the Document Body to see the Add Page button become active.

In Word Processing documents, that button has the same action as Menu > Insert > Section Break (which will also become active when the cursor is within the Document Body).

BTW, Section Breaks also allow rearrangement of Thumbnails in a Word Processing document.

Tested in Pages 13.0 under macOS Ventura 13.3.1

Regards,

Ian.
