Barcode in Wallet on Apple Watch

I have the same problem with the YMCA app on my Apple Watch.

It should show the barcode so I can scan it from the Watch and leave my phone at home or in the car.

Any ideas, Apple?

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities eiger003,

The following steps will help you get started adding and accessing a pass from your Apple Watch:

Set options for your passes
1. Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
2. Tap My Watch, then tap Wallet & Apple Pay.

Add a pass

To add a pass, do one of the following:
* Follow the instructions in the email sent by the issuer.
* Open the pass issuer’s app, if they have one.
* Tap Add in the notification.
* Tap a pass sent to you in Messages.

Use a pass

You can use a variety of passes on your Apple Watch.
* If a notification for a pass appears on your Apple Watch: Tap the notification to display the pass. You might have to scroll to get to the barcode.
* If you have a barcode pass: Double-click the side button, scroll to your pass, then present the barcode to the scanner. You can also open the Wallet app  on your Apple Watch, select the pass, then scan it.
An airline ticket showing in the Wallet app. The flight information is at the top and a bar code is at the bottom.

If a pass changes—for example, the gate on your boarding pass—your pass updates on both iPhone and Apple Watch.

The Wallet app on my series 7 watch no longer works with barcode store cards . So it must be something with the apple update as it used to display the barcodes , now it does not and has not for some time now. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling blinking on the app in wallet just shows BQ number , Same for Marks and Spencer but stores with QR code are fine to scan , like Tesco so have you a fix for this ?

You mention some cards work OK and others have a problem. This suggests the glitch is something to do with the way the individual card apps work (and their Watch extension for Apple Wallet) rather than an inherent problem with the WatchOS. I suggest 2 possible solutions;

Check the (iPhone) App Store for updates to the underlying store app which generates the card and shares to your Apple Watch. Look at the last update version, and if it was not released in the last week or so keep checking for new versions compatible with the latest Apple software.

Contact the original App developer (M&S etc) and point out the problem which is probably something they need to solve.
