Predictive Text Suggests Nonsense or Words I’ve Never Used Sometimes when I am typing into a text or Safari etc., predictive text will suggest words that aren’t even words. I haven’t used those words in accident before, or even been sent to me by someone else. I have not looked them up on the internet or any of the things that predictive text is supposed to be based on. Sometimes when I have entered a word, it suggests a misspelling of the word which is even worse because if I see the suggestion and I assume that I have spelled the word incorrectly I accidentally change it to the wrong spelling. Why would it even suggest a misspelling when I entered it correctly? I like using predictive text because it will correct words that I didn’t notice I entered incorrectly. But, the issue I am describing is incredibly frustrating and sometimes confusing. When will this issue be fixed? Please don’t reply to tell me that I need to reset my dictionaries or languages, or that it’s based on my use. I have already been through those suggested solutions and they don’t work. Also, please do not reply with instructions to turn off predictive text. That is not a solution to predictive text not behaving usefully or correctly. If anyone else knows a solution please post it. Spelling: "Automatic by Language" won't suggest correction from multiple dictionaries Hello. I've configured the spelling ( System Settings | Keyboard | Input Sources | Spelling ) to "Automatic by Language" and it works like a charm. I can write in different languages (currently three British English, U.S. English and Spanish) and the language it's properly detected. The problem appears when the spell checker detects a misspelled word. That word it's underlined in red color but when I right click it only suggestions from the dictionary on the top of the list are suggested. Is it possible to use more than one dictionary to display the suggestions? It's really annoying to rearrange the list when I'm switching from one language to another. Thanks for your help.

Hello RASMITH,

To my knowledge you cannot change what is already in predictive text (unless you factory reset the device). Autocorrect and Siri will suggest something more often the more you use the word/language and less often as you don't. As you start to type more and more and get away from bad spelling autocorrect will stop fixing it. For example, if you always said "thnks" but now you want it to say "thanks," just start spelling it correctly more and it'll be suggested more.

iOS 17 is also doing a huge overall to autocorrect with some great improvements. The issues you're experiencing might be fixed this Fall!
