I have a MacBook that has a firmware lock and no proof of sale so they can’t help me… If I remove the ssd and replace it with one that has just the operating system will it work? Also are there any kits I can buy? (It’s a Apple MacBook Pro "Core i5" 2.4 13" Touch/2019)

The firmware password hardware is separate from the Mac's storage — which isn't replaceable either. Apple will accept that Mac for recycling: Free recycling - Apple
