Randomly, my .mov video switched to a .jpg, but only when I try to import it to another program. I tried to import this .mov file (<500mb) to Canva, and it comes in as a .jpg of the first frame, not a video. I tried to reduce the size in VideoSmaller, but again, it shows as a .jpg image, not a video.

I saw a similar question on here from 2020 with no real resolution. I'm using the current OS version, have not upgraded recently. the video size is not too large for what I'm doing.

Any help?

thanks.

How did you try to export it to the other program? If you drag the movie's thumbnail into the other program's window all you'll get is the preview jpeg version that Photos uses to display in the library.

You need to export the original file to the Desktop and then drag it into the other program's window.
