How to turn off my AirPods Max

My understanding is that AirPods Max don't have an on/off by design. They will "turn off" (or enter a low power state) when placed in the Smart Case or if once they are put down and stationary for more than five minutes. If they are in their low power state (either from being in the Smart Case or sitting stationary) for more than 72 hours straight they automatically enter an even lower power mode that turns off bluetooth and Find My to preserve batter further.
