Getting video from Ipad to pc

Hi,

I am looking for some advice getting videos from my ipad onto my laptop or pc. I have hooked them up directly using a usb-c cable but the upload keeps crashing when I attempt to transfer video. I receive the message- Something went wrong : Your files may not have been imported. Does anyone know why this may be happening or how to get videos onto a laptop/pc? I am very disappointed with my ipad as something so simple as transferring videos should not have so many issues.
