Cannot change "media kind" in Music 1.1.6.37/Big Sur

After importing personal media video files - In previous (iTunes) structure we could simply select a personal movie (.M4V) - choose "get info"/options/media kind and see a drop down menu to alter the media kind. Instead all my imported movies are stuck incorrectly categorized as "music video". The drop down menu doesn't work (individually, or in batch). This is not the 80's - "music video" category shouldn't even exist!!!!

It's impossible to drag or otherwise change these to the correct category of TV & Movies.

Any ideas?

iMac 27″, macOS 11.7

Let's stat up in safe mode and test. Safe mode can help to isolate and resolve unexpected behavior like this.

Thanks! SOLVED.

I didn't realize that Music and TV were split. It makes about as much sense as changing the sound of emptying the trash in finder - or the screenshot sound. Just nonsense change for the sake of change.... but alrighty then! ha

Music and TV are separate apps. You cannot move content from one to the other by changing its media kind. Import the videos in question into the TV app, and remove them from Music.
