Apple TV not connecting to my lg tv

I've tried unplugging power and also unplugging HDMI. The lg does not recognize apple tv in connected device

if it was me then I would test the appletv box with the tv of a friend / relative or the likes to verify it's not defect

if it was me then I would test it with another tv first to verify it's not something with your tv, otherwise spending money on a new one could be futile
