Imovie exported sound not good

Hello I have a question. I record my videos through OBS and edit them in Imovie.

When I export my videos from Imovie there is a kind of ticking in the sound, it is not constant but present in the background.

When I watch the videos directly from OBS/ or download them from OBS I don't have this problem and the sound is completely fine. The videos that I upload in Imovie are MP4 videos.

How can I fix this so that the videos I export from Imovie are good and there is no more ticking in the sound.

Hmmm. Not all Mp4 works well in iMovie. It must be Mp4/AAC. AAC is an audio format and stands for Advanced Audio Coding.

Open your clips in QuickTimePlayer and do a Window/Show Movie Inspector. What is shown as the audio format?

Whatever it shows, you can try cleansing the clips by converting the clips to Mp4/AAC with the free download, Handbrake. Handbrake will do it by default. Convert the clip even if it already is in the Mp4/AAC format. Re-rendering often cures audio issues.

You can get Handbrake here:

https://handbrake.fr/

A simple way to do it is to open Handbrake and do a File/Open Source. Navigate to your video and choose it as the source from the resulting screen. Then do File/Start Encoding. Wait a couple of minutes for the conversion to

complete. Then save and import the converted clip into iMovie.
