Searching an artist's name on my Mac Music App stopped working several weeks ago. It still works fine when searching Apple's Music Cloud, but just shows up as "searching your library" for a search of my own music database. Thoughts on what I might do to get it working again?

Also pls note: Unlike Search, the Filter does a straight lexical match on the character string (but case-independent). Per your screenshot, if you enter "crowe" it will not match on "crow."

Thank you. Yes, I can now make it work, which is helpful. Do you, or anyone else, know how I can get back to the "standard" search bar (upper Left corner of screen) working properly again? See attached. Historically, I've been able to toggle back and forth between Apple Music and Your Library, as I'm searching. Again, this used to work great, until just a few weeks to a month ago. I do thank ed2345 for giving a way that actually works, it just takes a bit longer for how I tend to use my search tool.
I was hopeful that your solution would provide a quick and easy workaround, but such is life—this approach fails the test, too, i.e., nothing shows up when search terms (that I know are in my account) show up. Before pushing the GO button I went back to test several more artists that I know are there, e.g., I have a LOT of the Beatles songs and albums, and only one showed up. Thanks for trying to help, though. It is sometimes a more convenient way to get at a search that going all the way up to the top of the left channel.

First make sure you are in View > As Songs. Also be aware that the filter field looks in whatever view you have open. If you have the library (songs list) open, it will look at your whole music library. Or, if you have a playlist open, it will filter within that playlist.

For searching in your own library or a playlist, View > Show Filter Field put a search bar at the upper right that can efficiently search.
Thanks, the link is helpful. Also, at least I don't have to feel like the Lone Ranger—the only one in the world with this problem! Obviously, that is good news/bad news!
