Make it a quick ding sound, rather than a few seconds. If it was sent at the exact same time, expect the notifications to overlap. Sometimes, it just doest make a ding, and there's nothing to do about it.

You should hear a notification for every test you receive unless 1) you've silenced alerts for a particular person or 2) you have the Messages app open.
