HomePod mini repeatedly disconnects from network

I have two HomePod minis. One of them repeatedly disconnects from the network or shows as not responding.

In reading similar questions on here and other platforms, the answers aren’t much help: restart the device, restart the router, rest the the HomePod. I’ve done all of these. And again, the problem is only happening with one of my two HomePods.

From the online comments, it seems as though this is a common issue which leads me to believe the device is at fault. I wonder if there will be a recall.

The most likely cause is that the HomePod Mini with the problem is getting a weak signal. Swap the HomePods to see if the trouble follows the HomePod or the trouble stays with the location.

You know, with hundreds of millions of users you will always find others with what appears to be your same problem but that doesn’t mean it’s a defective product. If you swap the HomePods and the trouble follows the HomePod in question then it is entirely possible that that HomePod is bad and needs to be serviced or replaced. If still under warranty this won’t cost you.
