Blocked caller keeps getting unblocked

Hello,

I want to stop receiving spam messages from a caller. I tap info on his/her profile and then I tap Block this Caller and then Block Contact so that the command in the menu becomes Unblock this Caller. However, when I close the Messages app and open it again, the command has turned back to Block this Caller. I have restarted my iphone and have also made sure that it is updated. There is no telephone number in the caller's profile so I cannot add it to the Blocked Contacts in Messages Settings.

What can I do? Is there an effective way to stop receiving these spam messages?

Hi aretig,

Do you see the search box under "Tell us what's happening" on the Get Support page? Type a brief version of your issue there (e.g. "unable to block contact") and choose your device. If you're in a country where Apple has local support options, you should see options to either call or chat with Apple Support.

I would like to thank Brittany1416 and Ali_E1 again for their help. Unfortunately, neither Apple Support nor my telecommunications provider could do anything about this problem. So I've sent a report to the Data Protection Authority of my country and I'm waiting for their response.
