Individual music subscription to family subscription

I have an individual Apple Music subscription. I was added to a family plan a week ago and I want to cancel my individual subscription without losing my data. I read online to keep my individual account and that the family subscription will kick in automatically.

today is the billing day. What should I do?

When you were added, you should have received an invitation to join a family group. You should then be able to opt in to any services the family set up. These are the steps from Set up Family Sharing - Apple Support:


On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

1. Go to Settings.
2. Tap your name.
3. Tap Invitations.

To accept an invitation, follow the onscreen instructions. When you join a family, you might be asked to confirm your account information and to opt in to any features or services your family set up.


Once this is complete, you should no longer be billed for your individual subscription.
