Sorry but this is not an Apple issue if the developers choose to stop supporting their software. If this is a constant issue for you, I would suggest backing your data up in multiple locations so if the developer does stop supporting their software, you havent lost anything.

You will need to contact the app developer for help with their software.

I wondered why you would store photos in a calculator app.

Then a Google search revealed that this thing pretends to be a calculator app, but hides your photos away (so that anyone who isn't onto the trick doesn't know that your photos are there). I would guess that to do so, it has to take them out of the iPhone's standard Photo Library / Camera Roll, so they would be somewhere in the data associated with that specific app.

One school had a page warning parents about this app, saying it "allows children to keep photographs and videos a secret" and "does not contain an age restriction and therefore can be accessed by anyone."

I know its been a year since this was posted but I recently ran into a similar issue. The only difference is that my phone is set to delete apps I haven't used for a while in an effort to save space. I went to open HiCalculator and received an error message to say that it is no longer available in the app store. I was hoping someone who has the app could possibly provide me with the App Developer's details as I'd like to reach out to them and somehow try to recover all of my photos and sentimental messages.

Thank you in advance.
