Logic Pro X -- Record Enable ONLY Focused Track

I've used Logic professionally for over 20 years, and a feature that I used to rely on to speed my workflow doesn't seem to work any more. In older versions of Logic it was possible to set preferences so that focusing a track immediately armed it for recording, switching off record arming on whatever track was focused on previously. This way you could just click on a track once to select it, arm it for recording, AND switch off arming on the track you had just recorded. Now focusing on a track doesn't turn off record arming on a previously armed track, and so I'm constantly recording over things I just did, because record arming stays on those tracks, even when they're not focused on . Is there any way to go back to the old way? It's far superior.

It's actually a pretty simple fix. Stop clicking on the R to enable recording on a track. If no track has a flashing R, then whatever track is selected will automatically be ready to record by typing R on the keyboard, clicking on the record icon or using a midi controller.

I have the same issue with one of my projects. Only one. I’m using the stripped down version of logic on a brand new iMac. I’m trying to get acquainted with the app. Everything is up to current date. All of the other projects arm the track I select automatically. This one project auto armed this morning but this afternoon it stopped which tells me there must be an option somewhere to turn it on and off that I may have unknowingly switched. Right clicking on the track header allows me to turn on enable record, but it’s already on. I’ve been at it for hours trying to figure this out. Seems every thing I find is asking to turn that feature off. Frustrating.
