Question about Apple care

I got an iPad pro as a gift, and it seems that the battery got drained too much and it won't charge at all.

I do see that it still has apple care until 2023 later this year ( Can't remember if it's Aug/Sept) can I avail this apple care for this tablet?

Addtional info: I don't know where my friend bought this but it seems that it is from a third party / website. we have no idea what the info on the apple care is on / owns the account that activated it.

Warranty and Apple Care are linked to the serial number and unless the previous owner cancelled Apple Care you should be able to use it. Contact Apple to be certain. Click the "Get Service" button in the following to contact Apple. iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

Thank you! It is still active when I checked it, I was trying or was going to buy one if I still can that's when I found out that I was not the first owner of the device.
