It looks like this happens to a lot of people not just me. Apple’s “fix” apparently doesn’t work according to what I’m reading from others. This happens to my alarms intermittently. My alarm has now been on silent snooze for over an hour. But why go through all the things Apple suggests if it doesn’t fix? Please Apple solve this problem as many people apparently late for things due to the faulty iPhone alarms. Cheers.

It sounds like your iPhone is silencing the snooze sound. To address this behavior, delete the alarm and recreate it. Try testing with a different sound. Make sure you have updated to the latest available version for your iPhone model.
Check whether you have Focus enabled. This would silent all sounds unless you have given permission to the app to interrupt Focus. You can disable Focus from Control Center or from Settings > Focus.
