Mac always freezes when press ESC multiple times immediately after lock screen (Macbook Air M2, 2022, 8 GPU)
Macbook Air (M2, 2022, 8 GPU) always freezes if I hit the ESC key multiple times right after I lock the screen.
How to reproduce:
1. Lock the screen (by pressing the power button, or by pressing the Apple logo > Screen Lock menu).
2. Press the ESC key multiple times in short time (immediately after locking the screen).
3. Mac freezes and won't wake up.
Macbook ALWAYS freezes when I do the above procedure. This also often happens when I hit the power button multiple times. I haven't found a solution other than holding down the power button to force the system to shut down. I've updated macOS to the latest, and I've tried reset macOS several times, but nothing has worked.
As a side note, with an external display connected, I have made it a habit to press the ESC key a few times right after I lock my Macbook to turn off the screen. This has caused me to force reboot system and lose my works several times.
I took it to Genius Bar for repair two months ago. While wating, I tried to reproduce the issue the same model on display and it was reproduced on all three of the same model (Macbook Air M2, 2022) on display in an Apple Store.
I verified the reproduction of the issue with the Genius Bar staff and they confirmed that the issue had not been reported internally. When I reported the issue, I've been heard that this issue will most likely be addressed in a future software update. There have been several software updates since then, but the issue is still not resolved.
I'm wondering when this will be fixed. I have confirmed the reproduction on the displayed product, but I am not sure if this is an issue with all products. I would like to resolve the issue before the warranty period ends.
