Unable to stop Apple Music playing when my phone connects to car audio

How on earth do I stop my iPhone 12 auto playing from the Music app when it's connected to my in car audio (NOT using Carplay) using either a lightning cable or bluetooth. Incidentally, when connected using bluetooth, it auto plays after every call is ended too. Ive seen a few threads online about deselecting the autoplay / infinity icon in the music app my I don't have this option. My handset is running iOS 16.5 and the Music app is up to date.

Bryan_K1, apparently the autoplay/infinity button has been removed in the Music app for iOS 16.5 (and perhaps before). This has been going on for months, with close to 1,000 posts talking about this issue. Do 1,000 people need to reach out to Apple Support? Can someone from Apple check this out and see what our options are?

If you're not seeing the option to disable autoplay, you'll want to reach out to Apple Support directly to look in to that further and see what's going on.
