Is there anyway to see where on Safari an image was saved from?

I had saved an image from safari on my iPhone, and I thought that it would have the source link attached along with it, but it does not. Now I have lost the link source. Under the image in Photos, it just says "Saved from Safari" is there any way to retrieve where in Safari an image was saved?

Unfortunately no. You can add the website URL manually yourself under Location if you want to, but it does not get added automatically to the image.

How sure are you of that answer? Now correct me if I am wrong but picture and video files contain unmodifiable “metadata” which consist of breadcrumbs to its creator and path it’s traveled. Otherwise what is metadata’s purpose?

now it may not be readily accessible via info tab (why would it reference “from safari” but not where? And how does it even know it’s from safari without knowing the url?) or an easy task (like the saying no lol) to access the info, but I do believe it is possible to get this information.

What I’ll do is dig into this one, and see if I can find a way of accessing the pictures url it ordinates from.

**one semi solution is googles image search that can show you what sites are hosting that image file, but this isn’t a 100% reliable***

*FYI this is for the “save image” option, a screenshot most likely would only contain metadata from that point forward…

Fairly sure, since well, any time I download an image through Safari, I can go check its Meta data in the Photos app and see there is no URL specifying where it came from for any image I've downloaded.

Unless you are suggesting there is more metadata not shown by the photos App that may contain the URL automatically, in which case, the issue would then be how access that actual data easily. If the Photos app does not show it, it might as well not be there unless you have a different app that can show it.
