Using magsafe battery pack as dedicated charger

I intend to get both the magsafe charging puck and the battery pack but if I read that when having a wired connection, the battery pack is able to charge the iphone at 15W as if it was an actual magsafe charger.

So, is it advisable to get just the battery pack and use it daily as my dedicated charger?

Are there any long term "drawbacks" while doing so?

e.g. degrading the battery life of my battery pack much faster

The only real drawback is environmental; a wireless charger is less efficient than a direct connection (which is also not 100% efficient), so it will create more waste heat and contribute more to the entropy of the universe, which will eventually lead to the heat depth of the universe.

But actually it is one recommended way to manage charging both the MagSafe charger and the iPhone.

Note, however, that the MagSafe charger increases the capacity of the phone+charger by only 40%. You can get wired battery packs that have 10,000 MaH capacity that can essentially give 2.5 to 3 full charges to the phone before they need to be recharged. Less convenient, of course.

Thanks for the reply!

Good to know that using the battery pack daily as a dedicated magsafe charger wouldn't overcharge the battery pack's own battery itself.

Noted on your second point as well, definitely more wallet-friendly as well! But I was thinking to take advantage of the 15W wireless charging when plugged in as I don't own a magsafe charging puck currently.
