Hey Guys, I have recently updated my MacBook Pro M1 to Ventura 13.4 and now my MPEG-4 format files aren't work. They open in QuickTime but only display a black screen, they won't open with finder (Space Bar) and the are import to FCPX but also are blacked out. Any suggestions?
Hey, unfortunately there is still no new update that I am aware of. So I am using Handbrake (Its free) to convert the codec of the files that aren't working. If you can't wait for a new update then I'd suggest checking it out, It's a really handy app to use.
Also I am having charging issues now due to the update as well as the codec issue. Apple need to sort this out quick.
You probably should post a bug report from the feedback page. The more users that do, the more likely Apple will take notice.
See if VLC will play them.
Hey, So VLC opens the files and plays very jittery for a couple seconds and then it closes the file. Apparently is an update issue with reading files filmed in 100/120 fps.

There have been a few posts about that. I don't have any to test.
Yeah it seems to be the issue. I am converting my files with the frame rate in Handbrake to HEVC and seems to be playing now

When will this issue be resolved? I am mid editing and need to finish projects off and everything was shot at 4k120 at 10BIT codec.
Any ideas how long until apple can fix this?
