My MacBook M2 Pro keeps freezing whenever I connect external M.2 SSDs with a thunderbolt 3/4 cable.
I have an M.2 SSD (SK Hynix P31 512GB) in an external SSD case (WIZPLAT TUB4000P). The case supports multiple data transfer protocols, including USB 3.1, USB 4, and Thunderbolt 3/4.
It works fine when I connect the SSD to my MacBook with USB 3.1 cable. However, My MacBook keeps freezing and automatically restarts whenever I connect it with Thunderbolt (3 and 4) cable. Even worse, the restarting cannot be finished (MacBook continuously repeats restarting) until I physically disconnect the SSD.
I don't think it's a cable problem or SSD itself. The external SSD works fine with the same Thunderbolt cables on Windows and Linux PCs.
Does anyone have the same or similar problem with me?
How can I fix this?
