Unable to scan documents into my Google Drive in iPhone Files app

iOS 16.5

iPhone 13 Pro

I’ve suddenly lost the ability to scan documents directly into my Google Drive in the iPhone files app. I’ve forced quit the app, restarted my iPhone, but the problem persists.

I’m able to scan to other locations like iCloud Drive or “On My Phone“, but no longer anywhere into my Google Drive.

Furthermore, when I try to move, scanned documents from my iCloud Drive to my Google Drive, I get the error message “You need to authenticate before accessing this item.”

I would love to get this resolved, as I use this feature a lot. Thanks in advance!

Do your Part: Provide Apple with feedback on this, letting them know about this issue. Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.

Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
Comment: that this all began after installing an update. Include the URL of this post

Are you Using a VPN?

If you are using a VPN, then disconnect from it. Delete it, if not needed.

OK, so where is it scanning these files to? Did this just occur after the update?

When I’m trying to scan a document into a Google Drive folder, the image scans, then I’ll press Save, and the file just does not appear anywhere in Google Drive. It doesn’t seem to scan to any other location.

But when I am trying to scan a document into any other location, like iCloud Drive or “on my phone” it works just fine.

It may have started after the recent iOS update.
