WHY DO I HAVE TO ENTER A PASSWORD FROM MY SECOND APPLE ID IF MY IPHONE AND MAC ARE SIGNED INTO THE SAME ID ON BOTH DEVICES?

Under what conditions does this happen? If periodically, it may be an app you bought with the other ID is trying to update and requires the information for that ID to do so.
