Voice memos storage problems

Hi,

My iPhone memory is maxed out, in large part because I keep a lot of voice memos.

The memos are backed up in iCloud, and also stored on my MacBookPro.

Is there a way to only keep recent memos on the phone, without actually deleting the older recordings?

Voice Memo Disappeared but Storage shows 1.3GB of Voice Memo Data I have recently discovered that most of the voice memo recordings have disappeared from my iPhone after I turned off iCloud (Previously I turned iCloud Backup on for a short duration for a phone switch. I do not need iCloud subscription since I've enough storage on my device). All of my voice memos are and should be stored in local iPhone storage. Currently, I see only last 2 voice memos). However, under Settings => iPhone Storage, it shows that Voice Memo app occupies 1.3 GB (see attached) of Data. But I am not able to find all but last 2 recordings in the app. There is no 'Recently deleted folder either (I've never deleted anything). So where can I find these recordings that are stored on 1.3GB of iPhone storage? Remove voice memos I have 3 Apple Devices. I would like it so that voice memos are saved on the cloud on not on each device. Is that possible? My ipad has become unusable because of voice memos. How do offload them to external storage? Anything to help me manage my voice memo storage by moving them off the device would be helpful.

Enabling iCloud for Photos, Voice Memo, Notes, Videos, Reminders, Messages, and more, as depicted in the provided picture, means that if you delete any or all data from one device, it will also be removed from iCloud and all other devices linked to the same Apple ID. Likewise, the reverse is true as well.

not wishing to be disrespectful, but I know that already.

my question is how do I optimise phone memory use so it’s not swamped with archive material?
