I figured out how to MOVE the ICONS!!!
I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to actually MOVE the icons manually on my desktop screen. I used an older MacBook for ages and was very comfortable with all the features and so forth, so it's been very frustrating "downgrading" (IMHO) to a newer and more expensive MacBook. It's been maddening trying to move the icons around--and my Home Screen has gotten very cluttered--because, as you know, when you click on the icon, it OPENS the file. Ugh!!! So HERE IS THE SOLUTION:
TO MOVE ICONS:
Hold down the command key and then click all icons you wish to move. Then, while still pressing the command key, you can manually drag the group of icons wherever you want.
Finally. Problem solved. Off to clear the clutter on the Home Screen and wanted to share this with other people who share my tech-challenges, lol, and are also "downgrading" & frustrated with trying to figure out how to perform this seemingly simple action.
Happy De-Cluttering!!
