Ventura 13.4 Update - Lost Internet

Hi all,

Just updated to Ventura 13.4 this morning and I suddenly lost my internet connection. True for both wired and wireless connections.

It's not my router because all my other devices are working fine. The router's DNS entry is where it's supposed to be, and I am able to ping it, but no connection nevertheless.

Any suggestions? I work from home, so needless to say, I need to have the internet working.

Has anyone found a fix for this yet? I updated to 13.4.1 and all my connections, locally via ethernet and remotely via wifi, stopped working. I thought I had it fixed a few times, but over time it all stops working again. After I do a restart it all begins working again, but this shouldn't be necessary. Thoughts? I work from home as well so this is unacceptable. What a costly mistake updating the OS!

I think so. It seems that the SERVICE ORDER was the issue. I’ve gone in and prioritized the WIFI on top and so far so good. I have a NAS connected via two ethernet connections, a 10/100/1000 and a 10G adapter. It seems that after the WIfi initially worked it somehow dropped out and because it wasn’t the top priority my browser was trying to connect to the web via the NAS. I’m not sure because I’m at the limit if my tech knowledge here, but it seems to work now. Good luck.

Can your Mac connect to your local network, just not to the Internet? You stated that you can ping (the router) ... correct? If so, then that of course would indicate that it can connect locally.

If you go to System Settings > Network, does all of the IP settings look appropriate? That is, is your router providing your Mac with the correct local IPv4 Address, subnet mask, router, and DNS server addresses?

If you open a web browser and try accessing a web site, like: www.apple.com, can it connect? How about if you enter the site's IP address, instead of its URL? For example, Apple's would be: 23.207.40.211

If you run the command: traceroute 23.207.40.211 in the Terminal app, does it result in getting to the Apple server without timing out?
