Teach Siri how to spell a name when dictating

This is a question about how Siri spells my girlfriend’s name when dictating. It’s not about how Siri suggests keyboard spellings (although Siri doesn’t get that right either, but a simple text replacement rule fixed that).

My girlfriend’s name is ‘Lyndsey.’

When I am dictating and say the name, Siri insists spelling ‘Lindsay’. It is systemwide of course: texting, notes, mail, etc.

I’ve provided a phonetic first name, and a nickname, although I don’t see how that would help. I have provided a text substitution for every alternative spelling of her name. In fact, I’ve tried everything that I could see here at discussions as well as on other health sites. None work.

But when I’m dictating, she refuses to spell Lyndsey correctly. In general, I’m quite happy with how Siri receives dictation. But getting my girlfriend’s name wrong just won’t work! 😀

Anybody have any ideas?
