Apple business Connect Deleting location

Our business currently has two locations on ABC. One of these locations is permanently closed - however on the maps it is populating where our active location is. Is there a way to totally delete the location? I see a section under "Business Info" for "remove business". What would this do, actually remove the business, make the business unverified, still appear on maps? Having difficulty finding any answers through Apple Guidelines, reporting issues on Maps does not help.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, as we keep running into dead ends.

Andy, it would seem that if one location is permanently closed then you have nothing to lose by selecting remove business - reverification is quite a simple process with Apple now. Especially when you consider the implications of having inaccurate company data online ...

  • Misrepresentation: Inaccurate company data can misrepresent your business's information, such as contact details, products or services offered, or business hours. This can confuse potential customers and lead to missed opportunities or frustrated users who may turn to competitors with accurate information.
  • Loss of Trust: Inaccurate data can erode trust in your brand or business. When customers encounter conflicting or incorrect information about your company, they may question your reliability, professionalism, or attention to detail. This loss of trust can negatively impact your reputation and deter potential customers from engaging with your business.
  • Poor User Experience: Inaccurate data can lead to a poor user experience for customers visiting your website, social media profiles, or online directories. If customers cannot find accurate information, such as your address or operating hours, it can result in frustration and a negative perception of your business. This can lead to reduced customer satisfaction and potentially lost sales or opportunities.
  • SEO and Search Rankings: Inaccurate company data can harm your search engine optimization (SEO) efforts. Search engines strive to provide accurate and relevant information to users. If search engines find inconsistencies or conflicting data about your business across different online platforms, it may negatively impact your search rankings, making it harder for potential customers to find you online.
  • Missed Opportunities: Inaccurate company data can cause missed business opportunities. For example, if your phone number or email address is incorrect, potential customers may be unable to contact you for inquiries or sales. Inaccurate data can also affect partnerships, collaborations, or other business relationships that rely on accurate information for communication and decision-making.
  • Legal and Compliance Issues: Depending on the nature of the inaccuracies and the jurisdiction you operate in, there may be legal or compliance implications. Inaccurate information, especially if it pertains to legal or financial matters, can lead to legal disputes, regulatory non-compliance, or reputational damage.

To mitigate these implications, it is crucial to regularly review and update your company's online data, ensuring accuracy across various platforms, directories, and websites where your information is listed. Monitoring your online presence and promptly addressing any inaccuracies or inconsistencies can help maintain a positive brand image, enhance user experience, and maximize business opportunities.
