Why AirTag can't be shared in family?

Why AirTags locations can't be shared via family sharing?

All other apple devices can be shared this way. But AirTags, which purpose is specifically to track items, can't be shared.

It just don't make any sense and I wonder if there any public explanation on this?

Also, feature request: add airtags locations to family sharing the same way as it working for other devices
