How to take a high quality still from a 4k video?

Hi guys,

Question: i want to take a high quality still from a 4k video without losing quality.

i know there is a screenshot button but that does compress the photo right? I know use an app Video2photo which saves the photo. When i compare a screenshot and a saved photo from video2photo i notice the Screenshot has a higher MB and resolution. But both are still not the same as a 4k video.

i also know i can use Final Cut Pro for this, but i want to do this on my phone.

I don't know one way or the other if it is just a screenshot. To me a screenshot is a visual of what I have on my screen, but I would think that if it is creating an image from a high resolution video it would be based upon the video resolution, not what I am seeing on my display. Just an interpretation though. I only use it about once per year.

I know you can do it with the VLC version for Mac. There's an iOS version too but I don't know if it has that.

thanks! I know that option in VLC as well. On my Macbook 14 inch that would probably work cause it has a very high screen res. Its basically just a screenshot option right?
