How to cancel my subscription and get a refund?

Hi there,

I would like you to cancel my subscription to your service and refund charges back to my original payment method. I was scammed and I no longer wish to continue paying My subscription and continued payment to your service were a complete accident and not something I consciously wanted to do or was aware. Below, you'll find information that can be used to lookup my account. Consider this my absolute final confirmation that I wish to terminate my subscription and have ANY and ALL charges from the past 90 days refunded.

Thank You.

First confirm you have canceled any subscription automatic renewal (if you simply delete an app this does not cancel subscriptions):

Review the information in this support article by clicking on the link to learn how to cancel a subscription from Apple. ➔ If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple - Apple Support

• "If you signed up for a free or discounted trial subscription and you don't want to renew it, cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends."

• An existing subscription will normally continue until the end of its term and may then renew automatically. Stopping automatic renewal is effectively canceling it. "If you don’t see Cancel Subscription, then the subscription is already canceled and won't renew." The "Expires" date means the current subscription will just run until then.

• Read the article to see what to do about subscriptions that do not appear in your list. If you still can't find a subscription, contact Apple Support using the link at the end of the support article.

• Canceling a subscription does not automatically start a refund.

Seemed like we had similar issue.

I’ve signed up for Surfshark’s free trial while I was in China, as a back up method if I can’t access my Gmail using my primary VPN.

Sadly, SurfShark VPN never worked on my devices while I was in China, and due to:

1. My primary VPN failed;

2. I was unable to access my Gmail account, I was not able to login and manage my billing for SurfShark during the period of 30 days refund. As a result, even I was charged for SharkVPN’s service, but my account was inactive from the day I signed up.

Now I’m back in the area that I regained access to my Gmail account, noticed this issue, and contacted SurfShark VPN Digital Service Act team. In response, SurfShark's customer success team member have kindly directed me to https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084  to request an refund, however the under the list of selectable items did not include SurfShark's subscription.

Wondering what’s your take on this? Was it fair to ask for refund for an inactive account due to not able to access the purchased service nor account management function? Since I was charged for a service I’m not able to use.
