Stop using Important folder in e-mails on MacBook Air and Mac Desktop Monterey version 12.6.5

When I delete e-mails, they all go to Important. How can I stop this?

Have you restarted? If not, do so and retest? Problem still there? It may be time to reinstall your OS.
