Apple mail, marking single email unread in a conversation

FWIW, after looking into this a bit more it is in fact possible to swipe a single message in a conversation in Mail.

1. You can't be in Column View. Swiping does not work.
2. You have to expand the conversation first by clicking the indicator showing the number of messages in the convo.

Hard to say if it's intentional or a bug. Feel free to send Apple feedback if you like.

Personally, do not use " Organize by Conversation " for several reasons.

Yes, the list of messages is longer.

But for me, is more Detailed seeing all the messages I what to see when I want to see individual messages

As for Swiping in macOS

Swipe Right - Delete

Swipe Left and Flag or Remind Me

Just to add, it's certainly possible to mark one email in a convo as unread in Mail running in Ventura. As far as swiping, macOS, iOS are not the same things and don't always have the same options.
