I have an iPad Air that is 8 years old. It can connect to the internet when I’m away from my house. I need to know if I need a Sim Card for this to happen. If so, where is the slot?

Do you have a WiFi Only or WiFi+Cellular model iPad? WiFi Only models do not have a SIM slot or any Cellular hardware:

If the iPad is Wifi only, it will not have a SIM card slot. You can check if it has cellular capabilities by going to Settings. If you do not have the Cellular option, then it is WiFi only.
