Why is my music library partially blocked on my new iPhone (and not on my MacAir)

Generally I’m a big fan of Apple and have no nostalgia for my battles with Microsoft in the now distant past. However, I am bugged by an issue with my iPhone 14 whereby my music library has been partially turned grey and not accessible.

Most of this library was uploaded by me from CDs years ago when I went fully digital. Some of them were 40 years old and a CD used to cost half a day’s pay back then. So where is the copyright violation? On the contrary my own rights as a purchaser of the music are being infringed.

Is this fixable? I can’t see how from the posts on this subject. Users ought to start a class action against Apple for blocking access to music that they have already paid for if this cannot be fixed.

So what to do please?

Try signing out of the iTunes Store on the device and then try syncing again.

Otherwise see this post on erratic syncing.
