Every time they update, the icons revert to ugly icons. Every time I have to set the icon. This is lame. I want to set an icon once and not have to do it again, no matter if the app updates or not.

as far as the reverting icons, it's been that way for quite a while.
but, it will even be worse once you get to Ventura. they took away the "duplicate" option. so you can forget about changing the apple bundled app icons when you finally get to Ventura.
my "home" folder icons usually stick, but sometimes the "documents" folder icon reverts as well.

Why? This doesn't explain anything. It should be possible, its just a computer icon. When I update an app I don't lose all my old settings, so why do icons change?
Feel free to let Apple know it should be possible.
