Black arrow top left

What if the black arrow came from someone else seeing your location. But nothing on your end indicates it’s was you after you the checked location settings ? As if my phone was hacked ?

Hey twistedchi48,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

When Location Services is active, you will see either a white or black arrow icon. Is it possible that an app is open that needs access to your location? Some apps include Maps, Camera, Weather, and others. This article explains how your iPhone uses Location Services: About privacy and Location Services in iOS and iPadOS.

If you do not believe there's an app open, let's restart the iPhone. Restarting refreshes the iPhone's software and has resolved some software related issue. To restart, follow the steps below for your iPhone model or in this article: Restart your iPhone.

How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later
1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo.

How to restart your iPhone 6, 7, 8, or SE (2nd or 3rd generation)
1. Press and hold the side button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo.

How to restart your iPhone SE (1st generation), 5, or earlier
1. Press and hold the top button until the power-off slider appears.
2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the top button until you see the Apple logo

Take care.
