vibration Alert when iphone is picked up

Why doesn't or can the iPhone be set to vibrate when #1 is picked up and #2 an unread text is present? Like on Android phones i.e. Samsung's, where when the phone is picked up the phone does a little vibrate thing to alert you that a new text has come in or a missed call has taken place or a voice mail message has come in. I wish Apple phones could do this. Just a simple vibration alert that something has taken place while the phone was not in the hand.
