Homekit and Philips hue connection: only rooms show up, not the lights

There’s a couple of threads on here about Hue not working with HomeKit set up and Hue are aware and working to resolve it. Look in the hue app in settings - voice assistants and enable Apple Home. This is where it’s not working for some users though. It’s what you’d need to do to get everything to sync. I would just keep an eye out for the Hue app releasing an update.

As of 04-Jul-2023 suddenly all my Philips Hue lights and devices are connected in Apple Home again, like it was a few months ago. I did not do anything, and according to other threads it was an update from Philips that rolled out globally in early July. I am glad it is working normally now.

Did you assign these lights into rooms? Do you have the Hue App installed on a device to use? If these are new bulbs they usually need a software update prior to set up. This can be done in the Hue App. It will tell you to do this.

Yup, and I’ve tried various trouble shooting methods too.

I had packed away my Philips Hue bulbs when setting it up last time, but now I’ve added them again - and it turns out that it’s only my Trådfri IKEA bulbs doesn’t show up now (which I kind of suspected).

which is kind of weird too, but maybe that’s written in fine print somewhere. still disappointing though.

As of august 14th this still occurs, it's embarrassing.
