Keep reading that Apple Support document, which leads to If you can't reset your password. Read that one all the way through to its conclusion.

My max doesn’t give the drop down option of resetting the password. It tells me to go to applied.apple.com to sign in however I still need the password which I forgot. So wasn’t helpful. Any other suggestions
