Google photos to photos on iPhone

Before I had my iPhone my photos were stored in google photos. I’d like to transfer all the photos on google photos to the Photos app via my phone. I’ve seen there is a way of merging favourites but I have no favourites and want only to store my photos in the iCloud on the Photos app. Is there a way of doing this without losing any? TIA

Syncing only favourite photos to iCloud I'd like to just sync the photos from my iPhone that are in the favourites folder to iCloud. I have seen many people ask this question in the past but not seeing any answers. Surely after years of asking, Apple have figured out a way of implementing this?? Break the link between Google Photos and ICloud Photos I helped my mom migrate her google photos library into iCloud as she was out of google storage. I have synced her iPhone and iCloud libraries. But when I go back into her google photos to delete the pictures, it deletes them in iCloud/on her phone too. How can I delete them on google and keep them in iCloud?

This has gone under the heading photos for Mac but it’s actually Photos for iPhone.
