Why my banking app says iPhone is jailbroken?

I just tried to open my mobile banking app and it said my phone is jail broken. What does that mean? Did someone hack my phone

iPhones cannot be hacked remotely.
It means your banking app, may be mis-identifying your iOS version. Did you recently update your iPhone iOs version?
If so, have you made sure there are no updates for your app in the App Store?
Did you do something to your iPhone, recently, like installing an app from outside the App Store like Cydia?
Can you post the exact text of the error message?
What iOS version is your iPhone running?
