How to merge iCloud email with my regular email address? And synch iPhone and iPad email?

I bought a new iPad and while transferring data from old to new iPad I noticed that I have 2 email accounts in Apple mail, one in iCloud and my regular email account. Don’t know how this happened but how do I do do the following:

Only need to use my regular email account, so it synchs to both my iPhone and iPad. (I assume it does this through icloud?)

Any advice gratefully received!

Hey moira3707,

Most likely your regular email address is also your Apple ID. If so, you automatically created an iCloud email address when you initially created your Apple ID. Signing in on your iPad just toggled that email address on.

If you'd like to toggle it off again, you can do so under Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Mail, toggle off iCloud Mail.

As to your preferred email account, if it is not already on your iPad, you can add or enable an email address using the steps from the link below:

Cheers!
