Lightroom classic 2019 and Ventura 13.3.1 issues

First of all, not being so computer savvy, I had no idea there would be a compatibility issue when I upgraded to Ventura. Apple system updates always encourage to the latest OS for security etc so I did it thinking I was doing what I was supposed to this year.

I successful upgraded to Ventura on my 2018 Macbook Pro. On the first version upon upgrading I did not have any issues with Lightroom Classic 2019 and continued to use it for many months with no issues that I was aware of.

Then recently I updated to 13.3.1 when the system prompted me for the update thinking it was good for security and bug fixes and then all the problems started. My Lightroom Classic screen sometimes flashes like crazy for like 10-30 seconds going into rapid flash until it stops. Needless to say it is extremely disruptive. Now I REALLY REGRET updating to Ventura.

So now I want to roll back, even to the previous version of Ventura or Monterey.

1). Is there a way I can find out what version of Ventura or Monterey is saved in each of my Time Machine Updates.

2) If I revert back to an old version, is it as simple as choosing and saying RESTORE to that back up?

3) As I have updated images and files since the last back up, how do I reinstate the updated files after I have rolled back the operating system?

Anyway, sorry for these newbie questions. I feel hopeless and overwhelmed by all this and also if there is someone I can take this to and pay to fix I would be happy to do so too.

Sorry you experienced this issue.

Lightroom Classic 2019 was, I believe, Lightroom Classic version 8 or 9. However, the version of Lightroom Classic that Adobe states is compatible with Ventura is version 12.

Are you able to update or upgrade your Lightroom Classic to version 12? Launch Lightroom and select Help => Updates?

I don't recommend that you try to revert to an earlier version of MacOS. That is fairly involved and will leave you out of date on the MacOS, which means you won't be up to date on security and eventually your Mac will become obsolete on an older MacOS. I would instead upgrade to the latest version of Adobe Lightroom. Note that with the Adobe CC program ($9.99/month), you can use the latest version of Adobe Lightroom Classic and that is compatible with Ventura.

You can revert to older MacOS by downloading their installers from here: How to download macOS - Apple Support

You should have several good backups of all your files before embarking on this task.

Installing an older MacOS may mean you now have incompatible version of Photos Libraries, Apple Mail, Notes, Stickies, etc. So you may need to restore from a backup further in the past. This can become fairly complicated.

Much simpler would be to keep Adobe Lightroom up to date and stay with the latest MacOS.

If you want help with the system installation/reversion, I suggest you find an Apple Authorized Service Provider who will do this for you, for a fee. The Apple Store will not do this, it has to be a third party shop.

As for your questions:

(1) I don't know of a way to do that. With Monterey or Ventura, the Time Machine backup backs up only your files, not the OS. The OS can only be installed or restored from the Apple servers directly.

(2) No, you have to reinstall from Apple's servers. This is a security measure, it's one of the reasons there are no viruses that can affect Macs. The OS is on a sealed volume that is read only to you, you cannot replace it, only Apple installers can do that. I provide a link above to Apple's older MacOS installers.

(3) If you have updated files with Apple's built in applications, those may or may not be compatible with an older MacOS. If they were updated with third party software (like Lightroom), those should be ok.
