Contacts bug when entering data - still not fixed

What is the cardDAV server? Gmail, iCloud, ??

Have you tried a different account?

Perhaps On My Mac? If you don't have one, you can go to the Settings and disable any online servers. That will create an On My Mac account.

I'm using the native Apple Contacts app on a Mac when I experience these issues.

That's not what I asked.

Presumably iCloud as they sync across my mobile devices.

There are many address servers. iCloud is one. I think Yahoo and definitely Gmail host cardDAV servers you can use to store your contacts. They will all sync across your devices.

Many people have problems with the Gmail server.

It mostly happens with Gmail, but you are the second person I've seen say it happens with iCloud.

I haven’t seen the problem on any of my Macs, I don’t know what to try to fix it. I would disable Contacts in iCloud System Settings, then try to add contacts to the On My Mac account. Then, turn iCloud Contacts back on.

I didn't think it was a time-based symptom but that it is triggered when one tabs off of the Last Name field without saving the card first (and then clicking Edit to continue filling out the contact). It's annoying as **** and I wish Apple would fix it!
